Best you buy a cheap phone. You dont want your expensive phones to be stolen there.

To call from there to here, you just need an "unlocked" phone and a local sim card. Most modern phones will work overseas.

To call from here to there, look at LycaMobile, Vectone and Lebara. Aim for 1p or 2p per minute.

I suspect that unlocking your phone may be a greater issue than how many bands it covers. If you need to buy a basic phone, it wont cost much.

It depends of which bands your mobile phone operates on (900 / 1800). The UK operates on both of these bands, and India, Nepal and Bangladesh all operate on GSM 900. So in theory you should be fine.
