If this was Royal Bank of Scotland (below) then it is PPI, treat it in just the same manner. Write by recorded delivery asking for the return of premiums plus interest stating your reasons why it was missold i.e never requested etc. If they fail to refund or reply within 8 weeks then forward it as a complaint to the FOS.

Is this a form of PPI?

My son has a regular overdraft facility, on his current account, for which he pays a maintenance charge of £12 - 95 a month.

Up until recently each of his statements have also included an additional charge (referred to as 'Overdraft Loanguard Cover') of an additional £3 - 00 per month.

I know that it doesn't sound a lot but this has been added, each and every month, for a number of years.

Until about three or four months ago when, without any warning at all, this additional charge abruptly stopped.

    His circumstances, otherwise, haven't changed.

Is this some form of PPI cover, and (if so) can he claim it back?
