I thought that this had been resolved but how wrong I was. Apparently my wife's name was changed to my landlords name but a new account was made with different E-on account number and nothing changed with the account in my wifes name. Now my wife has received a debt collection letter which we are extremely upset about.

I am in the process of writing a letter to E-on about it all and sending my tenancy agreement too proving that my landlord should be responsible for the E-on bills.

Malc I'm pming you the details. I would really appreciate it if you could help.
How do you need the consent? Letter?

Sorry not fixed yet.

Please let me have either your account number or Post Code and property number. I'll also need the full name and Date of Birth of the person who will be the registered bill payer going forward.

As this will be a different person to the one noted on the account at the moment, I'm afraid I'll also need the consent of both your wife and the proposed bill payer to allow me to make the change.

Also sorry your wife's name has suddenly appeared on the electricity bill. Hope the link posted by BREWERDAVE1 was useful - thanks Brewerdave.

EON apparently have been having problems with their billing systems!!

the only way i know to change details like this would be for someone to have called / written to them. In the past my details have turned up on utility bills because ;

1) the landlord has made the call (in rental accommodation) or 2) i have made the call.

Its worth noting that whoever asked for the details to be changed should also have been asked for meter readings .. again based on my experience.

Changing it back to your friends name should be as simple as calling eon and telling them the account details are wrong.

Me and my wife live with some friends in a flat. The bills (including eon electric bill) are usually paid by them. However suddenly an eon bill came addressed to my wife this January. She has not signed up or given her name to eon.

How can we change it back to our friends name? Why has this happened?
