    Hi andybell,

I am sorry your still not happy, I do understand you want to take it elsewhere.

All I can advise you, before the energy ombudsman take on the complaint, they give the energy company 56days to try and sort it before they take the complaint on, so you'll have to follow our complaint procedure first, if you haven't already.

You can find our complaint procedure, on our website.

As bailiffs were involved in this farce you should check your credit rating as well as it may be affected.

    Re: eon are a joke

hi acemack622 a belated thanks for your reply. Ive thought long and hard about this one and after having a consultation with a solicitor who said a 4 or 5 figure sum would be possible i think that if EON don't do the decent thing i will go to the papers. I have spoken to two dailies and they both said that they would run a story if i just get back in touch. I i think its the best thing to do in the circumstances, i think potential customers need to know what the possible consequences are. Its so difficult to know exactly what to do. i did contact the energy ombudsman as well and said that if we couldnt resolve it they would also step in. once again thanks for your reply

£30 is an insult, work out how long it took you to sort it out and all your phone calls / letters etc then add your hourly rate for the time taken to sort it out and send them a bill.

Might work .... its about time these companies paid for their shoddy behaviour.

    Good luck

    Hi andybell,

I hope you don't mind me popping on to this thread.

The process is, when you change supplier, approach your chosen supplier and they will advise us that your leaving.

Then at the final stage of the transfer, your new supplier will ask you, for your start readings, as soon as they get them they will then send them to us.

We will end your account on those readings, and send you a final bill, as your on a prepayment meter you might owe us a little for standing charge.

It's not good that we kept sending you bills but, I think we kept changing the readings that's what it sounds like, as I cannot not be sure as I haven't looked at your account.

If your not happy with the offer EON has offered, you need to escalate it to follow our complaint procedure.

I hope you get it sorted just shout up if you need anything else.

    eon are a joke

nice to read some of your stories about eon, sounds very familiar. I switched from eon to british gas and sent my final reading to eon who said that that was it and my account was closed. By the way i was on a card meter so could not run up any bills as i had experienced a problem like this before.

Surprise surprise, a month later eon sent me a bill for £30 which i said was not possible as i had been on a card meter which they agreed was wrong and to forget this bill.

But then again about 6 weeks later the same again but now £60. Once again eon said this was wrong and it was british gas's fault for giving them the wrong reading. {not possible} as i had given them the reading. once again they said forget it, i did.

Guess what another 6 weeks later and a letter saying this time that i owed £ 260. this once again was written off as a mistake,

and then again 1 month later another bill for £242 which was once again written off.

finally in December 2011 a letter and phone call from the bailiffs asking me what i was going to do about the bill for £242. By this time i was fuming . the bailiffs were asked to ring eon by myself. which they did there and then and eon once again confirmed there was no bill.
i made a complaint to eon about this 11 month affair demanding compensation.
they have now offered me £30. I don't really think so. what would you want? or what would you ask for
