    I don't understand 100% of your post but my opinion is that you are better investing in a fund that aims to outperform, and has a record of outperforming, an index rather than a fund that just tracks an index.

    hsbc 250 through fidelity

    the fund has a TER of 0.27% and no initial charges. hl doesnt have no dealing charges but has two pound platform charge. am i right to assume fidelity is therefore better to get this tracker from. ofc the commusion if any usually comes from the AMC.

    am assuming therefore that fidelity has no additional holdibg charges or dealing costs.
