I finally got my 11% Barclaycard Platinum cashback card in early December.This gave me less than 4 weeks to spend the £909 to get the maximum £100 cashback by the 31st December but with Christmas and car insurance looming that shouldn't be a problem. Then yesterday I received a letter out of the blue from Barclaycard apologising for he delay in processing my application and saying that my account would be credited with £100 before February as a gesture of goodwill for the short time I had to make use of the cashback offer. Nice one Barclaycard!

However I called Customer Service today to check that I was still earning cashback on my purchases until the end of December. The first representative said that I wasn't - this wasn't a cashback card... I called back and had a further lengthy discussion with a second representative who said that I am earning cashback until the end of the year and this was on top of the £100 gesture of goodwill. This chap was far more thorough and seemed certain, but has anyone else been offered this and what have you been told about the cashback? The thought of a free £200 for a £909 spend seems too good to be true.

Anyone else who experienced delays in getting this card - must be worth an email to Barclaycard asking for your 'gesture of goodwill'!
