I saw an Acer netbook computer advertised on the Comet website with a 6 cell battery (8 hours life). This was available to collect in store so we went along to the local store to get one. They did not have it on display but the assistant looked it up on the website, found the stock number and they had 2 in stock at the price quoted on the site.
After setting it up I discovered that the supplied computer only had a 3 Cell battery (4 hours life). We could have bought this model cheaper elsewhere.
Since then I have been battling with Comet to get them to supply the advertised 6 cell battery. They have refused to do this, have said that they cannot exchange the computer for a new one with a 6 cell battery as all the stock only has 3 cell batteries, but they have offered a refund.
I do not want a refund as I have spent many hours setting up the computer, installing software, etc. What I would like is for them to exchange the 3 Cell battery for that which they advertised. Is there anything in the SOGA that gives me the right to insist they rectify the error and supply the advertised goods or is a refund all I am entitled to?
