Re: car finance payments more than was told.

right this is an update, i went to meet with manager and the salesman but the manager wasnt there (he's day off) and the salesman didnt even know i was coming he thought i had just come to pick up the service book that i was waiting for them to stamp...... aargh i am so angry i told the salesman why i was there and he said he didnt know anything about it but said the payments was over 180.00 because this finance company dont do a big starter fee or big end fee like alot of the companies do they charge a little more and spread the cost over the payments at first i thought that could be feasable and the salesman put £30 of diesel in our car for a waste of journey but he said he would discuss it with manager today and get back to me to confirm things. anyway all day and no phone call from him so i decided to phone the finance company to send me some copy's documents they siad they dont send copy to customers so i asked them to confirm when the first payment would be coming out of bank they told me on the 10th of month and first payment is £193.70 + document fee of £149.00 then another fee of £199.00 onto the last payment!!!!

I was shocked so i rang Bristol Street motors to speak to saleman to tell him he lied to me last night AGAIN regarding the payments he just fobbed me of again and said leave it with me i would speak to my manager in morning as he wasnt there and get back to me. i am so angry he is just lieing to me all the time. this salesman is a joke if i dont here from them with any satisfactory news tomorrow i am going down to them and have it out and shout and ball in the showroom hopefully in front of customers.

p.s. it looks as though i did sign finance docs the salesman said i did so i went off on one and said i didnt see them and he appologised and said i am sorry if i rushed you through the paper work (he did by the way even my girlfiend said he was rushing you through them papers wasnt he) when we left the show room we sat in the new car with keys in our hands from getting in there and signing papers getting keys and sitting in our new car it had taken less than 10 mins.

Re: car finance payments more than was told.

It's certainly awkward. As I said, if you can't reach an agreement, you will need to record what has happened in writing to the dealer as soon as possible.

It may work in your favour having part exchanged though. If no agreement is reached, you can ask for your old car back when you hand in the new car.

It is very unlikely that the salesman will say to your face that you agreed to pay £193.70 so hopefully you will be able to agree something that both you and the dealers can live with at the meeting.

Re: car finance payments more than was told.

i didnt sign any finance papers at least i dont think so because i didnt see anything with figures on regarding payments and i wasnt given any copy's of said finance documents which i would of thought i would of if i had signed them, the sales manager sounded a bit shocked that i didnt know payments, thing is they have now sold on my car that i part ex'd so what would happen there then if i was to not to come to some agreement regarding payments. i bet the salesman says that he told me the payments would be £193.70 and i said would pay that, but i didnt agree to it.

should i have been given a copy of the finance agreement when i collected the car??

thanks for your help with this matter.

    its a con:

where do i stand regarding getting the payments down to £180.00 what do you think??

Initially things are up for negotiation. If you've not signed to say that you will pay £193.70, you can ask them to take the car back or come up with something better.

If you can't come to an agreement, you should put the situation down in writing in a letter to the garage and take legal advice, perhaps from the Citizens Advice Bureau. It is important that you do not try to hold on to the car if you are unhappy with terms that you have not agreed to.

car finance payments more than was told.

Hi, i bought a car from bristol street motors 3 weeks ago and at the time i told the sales man my monthly limit was £180 and he said if i can get you into that car for £180 a month would it be a deal so i said yes, he came back to me after speaking with his boss and said it's a deal, 2 days later i was back to collect the car i signed a few pcs of paperwork just the usual i had refused GAP and didnt want ultrabright cleaning or something and he said the finance company would send all finance bumf onto me in a few days, anyway 3 weeks have passed and nothing so i am getting worried because i am unsure when payment would be coming out of bank so i rang the salesman to say i hadnt recieved any finance paperwork but he was off work so i spoke to his boss who told me the payments would start 28 days from collecting the car and payments was £193.70 a month. i told him the salesman said it was £180.00 because that was the limit i wanted to go to he was shocked that i didnt know the payments and i didnt have any paperwork regarding the payments, i am meating him and the salesman tomorrow to see what can be done. where do i stand regarding getting the payments down to £180.00 what do you think??

    thanks
