travel insurance covering existing conditions

    Had similar problems with my Dad travelling a few years ago.
    Suggest you try SAGA travel insurance or google Travel Insurance companies for those with existing medical conditions, there are a fair few out there.

    You should investigate whether/how to get him covered by the NZ health system. It used to be a case of registering with a doctor, I believe. Without insurance, you would probably need to accept that any serious situation would need to be dealt with in New Zealand. Health services in New Zealand ought to be free but an air ambulance home or similar special services would be expensive.

    Hi there

    I live in new zealand and my parents were regular visitors to nz until my father had a cardiac arrest here 5 years ago.

    He has now been told that he is able to fly here again but is having problems getting insurance.

    It is for 66 year old with history of heart and kidney problems

    Can anybody please offer any advice of companies that would help
