    Re: Travel Insurance -upcoming treatment

Thanks - our insurer has always covered pre existing conditions -ie high blood pressure. However, apparently the huge increase in premium is due to the fact that the wart type growth will not be removed until end of this month i.e. treatment not completed.

Even Free Spirit (the company which specialises in covering cancer conditions) would not offer cover until procedure completed. Been back to our original insurer today and have cut the cover from Premium to Standard and managed to get it down by £90 so we are now covered. Thaks

    Re: Travel Insurance -upcoming treatment

If you didn't have any Insurance in place at the time you booked the holiday, then you don't really have much choice when you arrange cover. The condition has to be disclosed, even if the mole is removed. The Insurers who will cover the condition will charge a much higher premium. Some Insurers won't offer any cover related to the condition.

You need to do some phoning around with the information to see what cover is available and at what cost.

I would suggest using a specialist Travel Insurance broker.

    Eg. World-first.co.uk, Direct-travel.co.uk, allcleartravel.co.uk, freedominsure.co.uk

    Travel Insurance -upcoming treatment

Have booked usual November holiday. Husband has to have a small mole type lump removed end of September. Diagnosed as basal cell carcinoma( skin cancer ) 3 months ago, non urgent, will have removed at day clinic, 3 or 4 stitches then done ( we hope and are told). Declared this with usual insurer to be told premium more than double than last year. Should we leave it until after the procedure - but what about cancellation cover up to then. Any advice, tips gratefully received.

    Thanks
