    Re: economic electric radiators

Does anyone have any ideas about cost effective electric headers? I am having to replace the heating system in two rooms with electic heaters and want any help on buying the best ones available in the market.

    Hi Electric123,

I dont envy you having to replace those.

Unfortunately, in my experience it doesnt matter what types of heaters you replace your existing one with, as they are sourced by electricity, the running costs will always be generally high, especially compared to GCH.

It might be best for you to employ the services of a few local electrician firms, of course make sure they are registered with the NICEIC. They may point you in the direction of good makes/models especially for room sizes. As older heaters tend not to fit the job anymore as living lifestyles change, you need heaters which will work more effectively.

Also dum question, but usage and "costing me loads of money"... are you on the best package for your supply/heaters.

Electricity storage heating is reknown for costing more, on monthly direct debit, than say a normal property for electricity and GCH combined. This is purely down to the cost per Kwh on the price you are getting on the electricity.

My advice would be to consider your tariff very carefully, are you on a meter/supply, which will allow you to change supplier easily (see a different thread I have just responded too concerning Economy 10 with Eon/OVO)

If you are, then I would potentially change now, ahead of the winter period, it might seem a few months off yet, but consider the switching time, as it takes 4-6 weeks to change, which will place you potentially at the end of september....getting abit darker then !.

Good Luck and keep us posted

    economic electric radiators

Im having to replace some of the electric radiators in my flat. At the moment
they are costing me a load of money in the winter months in particular. Could
someone advise me as to what are the best electric radiators that can heat my
rooms in an economic manner and can also be fitted to the walls. Im not just
looking for basic plug in ones.
I would be grateful for your help.
