    It doesn't work like that. If one of them were indeed noticeably cheaper than the others then the others would need to cut their prices and all of them would end up making less profit. Instead some of them send out salesmen to knock on doors to try to convince people with sales patter that they are noticeably cheaper. Then they hope people don't look too closely at the bills.

    Embarrassed [:$] energy bills

    Why is it, that none of the energy suppliers, have realised what a powerful (pardon the pun) position they are in. It will only take one of them to be brave enough to say, that's enough, no increase in our energy prices, people would flock to them in droves. They would soon recover any costs involved, by having the largest customer base in the UK. And if they didn't play their part, and they increased their prices, then people would leave them just as quickly. Lets see who blinks first, for surely they have someone reading these messages. I am a mere pleb, and I can see that it would make common business sense. We can only live in hope that someone on their boards reads this message.
