Re: Changing Suppliers - is it worth the hassle

    Twee:

is it worth the hassle of changing tarriffs / suppliers ?

    c) What options are available to me to fix my current prices ?

    What would you do ?

Prices vary by region so you have to do your own comparison, but a region I tried highlighted a couple of possible options (1) NPower Go Fix 6 would approximately fix your current rates for another 12 months and (2) EDF Fixed Price 2014 would, at a premium, fix your rates for a further 3 winter seasons.

Disappointed that you use the word "hassle". It's only a few minutes to switch with a comparison website, sit back for 4-6 weeks and then provide closing readings when the reminder email arrives. (I've just done EDF FP 2014 and it was barely a couple of minutes).

Of course you (or I) may be unlucky and someone will foul-up the transfer.

Or you may be unlucky and the deals are pulled before you decide - because they appear to be a little out of line.

Changing Suppliers - is it worth the hassle

I have been with Scottish Power for about 5 years - dual fuel
I am currently on Energy Saver 4 tarriff - is it worth the hassle of changing tarriffs / suppliers ?
If so - to what ?
    I have asked SP

    a) What my current rates are, per Kwh and per Gas unit ?

    b) What these will be from 1st August ?
    (since discovered - electricity 23.414p / first 225 units per quarter & 10.157p thereafter
    gas - 6.12p / first 670units per quarter & 4.569p thereafter)

    c) What options are available to me to fix my current prices ?

And await their response with anticipation...

    What would you do ?
