Re: Dead Mouse found in furniture delivery!

Just make sure that the mouse was not the mother and that there is a not a small litter of them inside the sideboard. Can be surprising how devious they are in building nests in furniture/boxes.

You are entitled to ask the company to pick up the sideboard and to replace it with one that is clean. The mice may have urinated on the sideboard and you should not be expected to have to clean it.

If you have problems with the company, threaten to report them to the Trading Standards and Environmental health officials at the local authority nearest to where this company is operating from. Who knows this company might have thousands of Indian Mice in their warehouse.

Dead Mouse found in furniture delivery!

    Evening all,

Need some advice please, This evening we had a Dakato Mango sideboard delivered to us which we brought from a firm on ebay. I'm currently away and so my partner decided to open the packaging to have a look at the item. She opened the cardboard packaging and noticed a weird smell, as she opened up the bubble wrap which is surrounding the item she noticed something stick against the wrap, to her horror it was a squashed dead mouse! very quickly after i received a rather hysterical call from my partner saying she had found a dead mouse and that she could see and smell the rodents droppings. I called the number i had for delivery but the guys informed me that they were nearly home and were at the end of the driving shift so wouldn't be able to come back and advised to call the office tomorrow.

Now i'm going to call at 8.30 tomorrow and demand that they come pick it up and refund my money, if they try to delay or refuse this where do i stand? We also have a 2 year old son so i'm quite concerned about having this dead rodent in our house i as expect the furniture has been imported from india.

    Advice please

    thanks
