    Re: Claim for workplace injury

Check whether your Home Insurers legal people would help first of all, as it would depend on the coverage. It should not affect the premium, as often the legal expenses is seen as a separate cover within the policy.

If your Home Insurance legal people will offer financial assistance, then they can work with the Unions legal people, if you need to pursue.

Most companies have policies in place for workplace injuries, so you should ask for a copy of the companies policy if you don't have one at the moment. The policy will outline the procedure for such claims, as most companies would look to avoid staff taking action against their employers, by having some form of process to help. You would then only instigate legal proceedings if you ran into problems.

    Claim for workplace injury

Had an workplace accident and have been investigating whether I should persue a claim.

    BUT
I see an unexpected problem- my union solicitors want to know about any other legal aid insurance cover I had in place a the time of the accident.

This could involve my house insurers. Would this increase future premiums?

Who else should I inform/ needs to know if I persue my claim? Car insurers etc??

Any thoughts/ personal experiences would be appreciated.
