    Re: International Prepaid Cards

I had this problem too. I didn't want to add my card because the whole idea of Paypal for me was to protect my card details! What's the point of using Paypal if you're just going to link a card to it anyway?

In the end I tried adding a card and then deleting it. This works for a while but then Paypal start bugging you again. Let us know if any prepaid cards work. There are definately some that do - I have read cracker forum posts mostly from criminals rather than the prudent, looking for such a service and in fact many are paying for this; typically about $10 for a verified account.

    Re: International Prepaid Cards

One of the reasons for PayPal requiring a card to be linked to the account is to prove your identity. If you are wanting to register as either a UK ar US customer when you live in HK, then you are going to have problems. I do know that some people have found a way round this problem by registering pre-paid cards (some work, some don't) but the more obvious solution would be to sign up with paypal.com.hk and follow their registration procedure which will be more suited to HK customers.

    International Prepaid Cards

I am have a big problem trying to get a pre-paid card.
I have a load of cash in paypal, but some online services require that to use paypal, the paypal needs a credit card assigned to the account, even though cash is available and no need to use one, so I am stuck.

I live in hong Kong, and any pre-paid card I try and apply for is requiring either a US address or a UK address. if its pre-paid and only uses the cash on the card, whats the problem? why can I not get a pre-paid card?

I have o problem getting a normal card, but I wont to limit my exposure on the net, so if my account is compromised, only the cash on the card is lost, limited loss, but using my credit card with equivelant 20 Pounds of credit available on each card to to much risk for me to entertain.

Is there a Pre-Paid credit card company, Visa or Access, even American Excuse that would accept an international customer? If My brother was to buy one and send it to me as a Gift, it would work, but why can I not apply for it?

    any help appreciated.
    Regards
    Geoff
