You are being royally ripped off anyway!!!! £22 per MONTH!!!! What sort of cover is that? All singing, all dancing cover inc garage repairs is only~ £16 per month according to web site.

I pay £95 per year for a high level of cover for two cars with Green Flag - AA quoted me ~ 12.50 per month for the same level of cover for 2 cars.

You mean you don't get a dance troop of 20 scantily clad amazonians dancing for your pleasure and filling you up with hot toddy's when you fan belt breaks?

I have AA roadside too but I think I pay about £45 per year, I am sure that is what icemancometh meant - per year and not per month....god I hope so or he really should be looking for a refund

AA covers you as driver or passenger in any eligible vehicle. The cover is not based on vehicle. Even though you don't own a car and unfit to drive you were still covered as a passenger in any eligible vehicle. AA does auto renewal (you need to see you policy documents), probably the reason you did not get any renewal notice. Didn't you noticed payment going out in your bank statements?

"That's interesting, has the payment amount stayed the same for 6 years? Surely there would need to be notice of any variation."

Yes I believe the amount has remained the same. I only have their basic cover for roadside assistance. They wrote to me I think about 5 or 6 years ago, saying that they would not issue renewals and would collect the payment due at the same time each years until I said otherwise. I know they have my correct details, as they occasionally write to me asking if I want to upgrade.

My understanding is that for some people that have been members for years, is that they don't increase the charge, unless you use their roadside assistance more than so many times over a period. If you did, they would write offering renewal at a different amount.

I have received bank statements, just not AA ones I guess :|

    Embarrassing isnt it!

I wasn't meaning to embarrass you, only explore whether any bank processes had failed. Unfortunately not it seems.

Are you saying the £22 didn't vary in 7 years?

    huckster:

I don't think the AA send a renewal reminder anymore; the relevant payments are just collected. I certainly have not received a reminder each year for about the last 6 years or so.

That's interesting, has the payment amount stayed the same for 6 years? Surely there would need to be notice of any variation.

And to respond to the OP, do you have an explanation why the bank appears not to have sent any statements in 7 or so years?

Write and/or phone them their customer services and ask. I don't think the AA send a renewal reminder anymore; the relevant payments are just collected. I certainly have not received a reminder each year for about the last 6 years or so.

The sticking point may be whether you can show that you have not owned a car. Can DVLA provide a letter to state that no vehicle has been registered in your name since x date ? Would the AA accept such a letter from DVLA to refund you?

    Paying AA for 7 Years!

    Hi guys,

You can put this down to clear stupididty but I can't be the only one.

In otherwords I have been paying £22 per month for the last 7 years for AA cover when I don't even have a Car and was deemed unfit to drive back in 2003.
It was coming out of an old account I rarely used but I have some cash left in it. Do I have any rights at all to claim any of this back?

    Regards

    S
