I wouldn't like to be the poor delivery guy who has to carry it up your stairs either, ranges are stupidly heavy items even just to move around a kitchen, you practically need a fork lift truck to shift them. I think you are being unreasonable.

Get it delivered to a neighbour and pay a man-in-a-van type operation to carry it up the stairs - £30 and you'd have it by now, instead of cutting off your own nose in spite.

If you live in a flat DO NOT BOTHER trying to buy a range cooker from John Lewis and Rangemaster. After ordering over a month ago, and after numerous telephone calls from us, we have been told they wont deliver because they have to carry the oven up 13 stairs. It was even suggested that my 81 year old father help carry the oven up the stairs! Disgusting service - especially as our home is kitted up with everything from John Lewis. We were also going to have new flooring put in by them, which would have cost nearly £2000 – that won’t happen now! WE WILL NEVER SHOP WITH THEM AGAIN!
