I guess if someone (family or friends) puts money in your currency card, it is okay, as long as you are not the one who will put money on other person that you don't know, then that might cause a problem.

im guessing for fraud prevention it is only you that can top up using a debit card unless the original card you allocate is that of your parents.

the other way of doing it is getting a normal everyday prepaid card and your parents can load it via bank transfer....few providers have this, Freedom, ClearCash, Bread, Kalixa etc - have a look at the table on MS

It's best to get a card to see exactly how it works but to top up in branch might require the card to be present. If it can be done online, then anyone can do it but they might need your account passwords and you should only give these to people whom you really trust.

Certainly anyone can pay money into your UK bank account and you can top up yourself as long as there are funds there.

The reason I'm asking is because I'm going to travel for a bit and might ask family and friends to put money in the currency card. I checked a couple of cards (FairFX, travelcash...) and they say you can top-up your card online or in branch but not sure if anybody can do that or only the card-holder.
    Thx
