    Re: Which card !

Hi there - CashPlus have got travel cards as well. The usual cards like Caxton and FairFX have good write ups. BreadFX is another that has popped up - rates seem pretty good.

I have a ClearCash card and find it works well abroad but is more for UK use - if going abroad i would def say get a travel card. Happy Travels!

    Re: Which card !

I use a CashPlus prepaid Mastercard all over the world (including Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, HK, Australia, NZ) and have had no problems with it at all. There is a standard fee of, I think, 1.5% for foreign currency transactions on this card, but that's pretty standard. You can use it in ATMs as well. If you are travelling to the USA or Europe, they also do US$ and Euro cards where you then don't get charged the foreign currency fee because it's in the right currency to start with. You can load them at the usual places and they have a freephone line and have always been really helpful when I've called.

    Either way, enjoy your trip!

    Re: Which card !

Personally, I used a FairFX card prepay Mastercard for travelling to New Zealand and Singapore.

I used a Sterling card so that I could use it in multiple countries with no additional complications.
Loading it was free and I was charged 1.5% for each transaction.
Reloading the card was painless and almost immediate from a UK debit card that I set up before I left.

You will have to double-check all the details, as it was a few months back, but of all the cards I looked at (Travelex, Caxton) I preferred FairFX.

    Hope this helps...

    Which card !

I would like to get a pre paid card to travel in the New Year, but I was told by a traveller that he was charged £150.00 for drawing out £1000.00 in Thailand. As I intend to go to Asia and Australia can anyone adivse if this is so or have used a card for international currency. There are so many cards now I don't know which one I should get.I also live in Jersey in the Channel Islands but it should not make a difference
