Re: E.ON doesn't recognise my address.

    Hi underbury

Many thanks for the kind words. They are greatly appreciated.

Glad I was able to help.

Address discrepancies do sometimes occur for a variety of reasons but we can usually find a way to resolve these issues.

Re: E.ON doesn't recognise my address.

I noticed on other topics that E.ON representatives monitored this site and had helped other people with their problems ,so I e-mailed Malc @ E.ON and asked for his assistance. I was very, very impressed with his help and my address is now recognised on the E.ON website and I have now been able to switch suppliers.

Many thanks to Malc and I hope his efforts do not go unnoticed.

    underbury:

I rang head office , explained what I wanted to the switchboard operator , and she transfered me to ....

    ...... customer services!

In that case the "next step" is easy, raise a formal complaint strictly in accordance with the E.ON complaint's procedure linking both issues.

The customer services unhelpful "sketchy opinion stated as fact" is not competent. These issues are not about the database but how the organisation's systems process the supplied data, in your case case probably incompletely. Is there anything you are aware of in your address that companies with poorly specified and tested postcode systems struggle with?

One final piece of advice however. Also consider the "value" of good customer service in selecting a supplier. Another probably equally good deal from another supplier will probably be along soon.

Re: E.ON doesn't recognise my address.

I did phone their customer services before posting my question on this site.

They were not helpful and said they used the latest extended postal address database supplied

by the Post Office and if I should ring their head office if I wanted to find out if anything could be done.

    ...... customer services!

Re: E.ON doesn't recognise my address.

I would imagine it is entirely up to e.on to update their website with any addresses they don't already hold on their address database. Contact them to request this is updated and if you still have no luck they should allow you to sign up over the phone but still get the cashback - after all it is their fault not yours!

Oh and this issue is not exclusive to e.on (although your address works on other suppliers' sites my address cannot be found on 2 suppliers' sites and has been like this for 10 months despite my reporting the matter)

    E.ON doesn't recognise my address.

    Hi ,

Can anyone explain why E.ON's website doesn't recognise my address when I enter house number and postcode?

The house has stood for seventy years and I have never had any trouble with my address when making any online

purchase. I checked the address on the Post Office site and no problems , also visited several other energy

supplier sites and they all recognised my address , only a problem with E.ON.

I am trying to switch from my current supplier and want to perform the switch online in order to get a cashback

reward as well as saving money.

    regards.
