Re: Virgin Media anygood or what?

In a word No they are not very good.

The engineers seem to be ok and actually have some sort of skills in my experience but are sadley let down by the rest.

However their products range from mediocre to poor.

The service standards are well imagine a company without any and they are worse than them.

The customer "care" team is an oxymoron in intself. They all appear to go on agression training prior to starting work and if thier attitude is anything to go by could all be extras in 28days. I am desperately trying to get out now so don't do it a you will regret it someway or other. classic staff comments are........

we are not obliged legally to inform you of any charges we consider suitable. how do I know you're telling the truth. I was speaking so don't interrupt. You can do what you like we can charge you what we want. I should be home now you're making me miss my tea! etc etc etc.

I would reccomend you call them up on something just so you can see how bad they are......but make sure you get a pay rise because it will cost you a fortune. Ask to speak with a supervisor or manager as they appear to be the rudest with the least interpersonnel skills. You have to pay for the privelidge of them being rude, talking down to you and even if you are the calmest person in the world I give you less than 5 minutes to be spitting feathers!

    They are dire beyond belief!

    dont do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Virgin Media anygood or what?

In fairness (And gentle rebuttal), I have been a Virgin (Previously NTL) customer for many years now -

On the infrequent occasion that I've needed to speak with them, they have been a pleasure to deal with - quick, efficient and pleasant -

Once I even got a knock on the door from a Virgin Engineer who had noticed whilst working on a neighbours property that my cable had become exposed and damaged (Had been wondering why the connection was occasionally a little iffy) - he said not to worry and I was in luck because he was part of the cable pulling team - 10 minutes later, good as new.

    Even pre-empting problems!! :)

    Good on ya Virgin :)

    Jim

Re: Virgin Media anygood or what?

    now listen here...

iv'e been with them for a while,so the trick is tell them my mates getting this deal.

the one i used was ...well i'm getting a better deal, elsewhere?

if they won't fall for it ,then warn them you will switch to a better deal.

still sometimes you will always get the stubborn di"" ,who will say no that's the best we can do.

    don't give in still switch!!

it is sometimes at this point you hit a deal.

they will ring you back,as soon as they recieve the switch over letter

then they will strike a deal...but remb you in charge then not them....so call ya shots....i meen sya wot ya need!......

    good luck

    any help reply back

Re: Virgin Media anygood or what?

Its only a good deal if it works. In my case it was costing me over £150 month on average in lost income while waiting for engineers that never showed up. Thats on top of the 10 days of annual leave I wasted on that useless bunch of ****.

Re: Virgin Media anygood or what?

I am dissabled, 95% deaf and I always found it hard to communicate with Virgin Media so they told me if I wanted to be treated like dissabled I would have to register myself dissabled. I have never been spoken to like this about my dissability ever before, in fact I have never considered myself to have a dissability as I always just tried to carry on with life. I went to the council and had to under go all the humiliating tests and questioning so I could get registered as dissabled, then I had to fill out a form and have my doctor sign it and sent it off. It hasn't made any difference, in fact they still keep plucking figures out of thin air every month, billing me for what ever comes into their minds, phoning me everyday harrassing me for a bill just a few days over due and adding charges galore. My bill was £100 last month, then it was £300 and today it was £479 and they cant explain anything. When I phoned them back after they harrassed me with calls again, they said they didn't know anything so transfered me to someone else who didn't know anything who wanted to transfer me to customer care (who don't really care).

I have been ripped off constantly, treated like dirt and bullyed by the staff. It has been hell with Virgin Media. They just dont care unless you are giving them money. I have begged them to release me from the contract and they refused so in the end I am now left having Sky (75% cheaper!!) fitted. I am going to have to fight Virgin Media to get rid of them now and may have to take legal action. I am so upset now, left feeling helpless because they dont want to help. I am having panic attacks with worry. To be honnest I have never worried about my phone bill until Virgin Media took Telewest over, life is now a living nightmare. My advice to all is don't go with Virgin media, go with Sky and get a cheaper rate and they seem much more helpful too. Virgin media have made my life a misery, calling me every day, increasing the bill by hundreds of pounds, threats, bullying, disability discrimination, rudeness and cheeky attitude, nasty threats. I just want them to leave me alone and go away but they wont it's just horrible. I only owe one month line rental as I don't make outgoing calls as I am deaf, this is over £400, but they wont help. Be very careful about Virgin Media.

Re: Virgin Media anygood or what?

In short No, deffinatly not in my case.

If you're female I recommend you get a male to ring them.

I am currently having a dispute with them over the internet connection I am paying for an not getting, they keep telling me that it's all at my end and there are no issues at their end yet the broadband fault line has been playing the same recorded message since at least the 1st October. I only contacted them to ask why it was taking over a week to fix as it was resulting in us loosing internet for upto two hours every day.

Had a similar issue with the tv from them too. We have to run our box through the vcr as we have a tv that doesn't have a scart lead. When I rang I was repeatedly told that I have to plug the scart lead into the tv even after telling the guy that the tv has none to which the response was every tv has a scart, he then told me to plug it into another tv and try it on that. Problem was I don't have another TV that would be suitable, so the idiot told me that every house has two tv's.

Put my partner on the phone because I wanted to swear at the guy, and amazingly they decided to send out an engineer, but he told us we would be paying for the call out. My partner said if they did that then we would be leaving, so the guy just said leave. The engineer came round and it turned out that the wiring was incorrectly set up.

There was also an offer which I only found out about by loging into the customer zone they seemed to find joy inn telling me that it was only avaliable to new customers, but as I'd logged into the customer zone I managed to get the deal afterall the terms and conditions did say it was for new and existing customers.

Overall if everything works they're great, the moment you have a problem it's probably easier to leave.

Not sure but I was in the middle of a contract when I cancelled but I threatened them with Solicitors / OFCOM and they let me out of it with no penalty / charges.
