Re: requested line rental only - but.....

i used tobe with talk talk a while ago and had the same problem when i left. if its sky your thinking of going with, if you conatc them they can sort it all out for you including your line rental. the line is still owned by bt but you only have to deal with sky as they play middle man between you and bt. they have some great combi tv, broadband and line rental packages. call them and see what they say as for bt i was got with the yearly contract too but was too late before i knew what had happened so i could not cancel it. they should be alot clearer when explaining things on the phone and be quicker in sending info out so you can read what you are getting yourelf into before its too late to get yourself out of it.

requested line rental only - but.....

Im currently with talk talk for calls and broadband, fed up with losing connection up to 30 times a day. phoned a company who 's service looked good to sign up with, who told me i needed to change line rental over to bt. So phoned bt, asked for line rental, i smelled a rat when i was told i would get free weekend calls, so i said i just wanted line rental and my broadband/calls to stay with talk talk. BT said the weekend calls were provided with line rental and would be in addition to my current provider. Reassured, i agreed to go ahead. three days ago, talk talk send me a letter conforming that ALL services were to be transferred to BT. I rang them and they confirmed this. Back on phone to BT who told me I was given wrong info, and if went ahead would be 12 month contract. Meaning id have to stay with bt for 12 months before i can get the broadband service i want from the company i want. I cancelled the order with BT. Doing a degree and finding it very hard to do research for my essays due to poor BB service form talk talk. Mysteriously, in the 4 days talk talk knew i was moving my service suddenly improved dramatically?
If anyone can shed any light id be grateful.
