Re: Am i obliged to buy my used car I ordered

    Depends of what was agreed.

I doubt the dealer could enforce the purchase, as it would be reasonable to inspect a car before completing the purchase. Once you had the chance to inspect the car, you rejected it, which you are entitled to do.

You would obviously loose the deposit and that would be reasonable to expect.

If you want some more reassurance, you could speak to Consumer Direct.

Am i obliged to buy my used car I ordered

I have seen a few articles relating to this but nothing too specific. I went to a garage to part ex my car for a used one with a bigger boot. The dealer found a car that suited my needs but wasnt in stock which meant they had to order it in and had to purchase it from a seperate dealer. This required me to put down a £50 deposit and to sign a used vehicle order form. I have never seen this car prior to it being offered to me as they stopped making it 5 years ago. The dealer showed me images of a car similar to the one they ordered for me. Which looked decent enough. The deal was my car + £1000. I looked at other images of the car later that day and wasn't too keen on it. I went into the dealer the next day to say that I wasn't too keen on it and I'm not happy about not seeing the actual car before purchasing it. They tried their best to dispell any concerns I had by saying that the bloke going to pick it up won't buy it if thier were any problems. The car has since arrived and I was offered a test drive. I immediately disliked it but thought I'd try it. The car didn't sound right and there were a few dents that had been self repaired by the previous owner. The dealership said they would fix these but I said that I was not happy about the condition of the car. I went back a few hours later that I will not be continuing with the deal.

Will I be responsible for any costs incurred by the dealer and will I get my deposit back and am I legally binded to purchase the car.

    Any help greatly appreciated
