Never been with Sky myself but daughter's b/f is with them and has had no problems.Excellent speeds and no connection problems - doesn't do a lot of d/loading so can't advise re limits

A lot depends on the exchange you are connected to,

Suggest you try posting in a specific Sky forum eg Skyusers for more info.

Ok thanks again. But can you tell me what the connection is like with Sky? Like the speed, the Internet uptime/downtime or anything relevant for me to choose Sky has my future provider?

It means you have landed on your feet! Shouldn't be a problem changing over to Sky as Talk Talk haven't unbundled you, and you should be able to get a fast service with Sky.

Re: Thinking of leavin TalkTalk for Sky

Thanks BREWERDAVE1, I went onto Samknows.com and it came up with the following result:

    LLU operator presence

    TalkTalk (CPW): Not available

Sky / Easynet: Enabled as of 23/07/2007

But what does all this mean?

PS: Our landline connection is with BT but we pay it through TalkTalk I think.

Re: Thinking of leavin TalkTalk for Sky

The key issue with Sky is whether they have "unbundled" your exchange - you only get the cheap deals(and a good internet connection) if they have. See Samknows website to check on your exchange.

    www.samknows.com/broadband/

Secondly , if you are currently fully unbundled by TalkTalk (phone and internet on their LLU network) then you might be better off just threatening to leave them, as when my SIL finally lost his rag with them over pathetic speeds he got referred to a higher level of Tech support at TalkTalk who "resolved" his speed issues within 10 minutes .Apparently they had put him on a restricted connection because the exchange capacity was stretched, so they just "switched off" the bottleneck!!!

Otherwise, leaving TalkTalk can be a real pain, both in terms of time and potential financial hangovers! You may even have to pay BT to get your line reconnected if it has been unbundled by TT.

Thinking of leavin TalkTalk for Sky

    Hi all,

I have been with TalkTalk since 2007, after leaving BT due to over charging each month. I have found the TalkTalk service very good, only had a few technical glitches in the last 3 years, but nothing major.

Now for a few months now TalkTalk has slowed down way too much, internet seems to be more slower, download speeds is pathetically slow (max 230 KB per second) and meant to be having atleast upto 8 MB.

So now because me and mum have been thinking of getting Sky+ TV (we are on Freeview at the moment), and have found a bundle advertised on TV and on the net about Sky+, Broadband and TV for only £19 a month. Sounds like a good offer, but I want opinions from people that have been with Sky with the package mentioned above.

Also at the moment, I have got 40GB bandwidth, which I do prefer, due to the ammount of browsing and downloading I do.

    Thanks to everyone in advance.

    Mark.
