Just spoken to someone higher up in Carcraft and have been told in no uncertain terms that we cannot cancel the warranty. They have been so rude on the phone and so unhelpful. Wish i could take it to someone higher up but am unsure of who this would be. I said we were not made aware that it could not be cancelled and he said that there is no proof of this so there is nothing we can do!

They won't like you cancelling the policy because Carcraft will lose a lot of commission, but if there is nothing in the wording to say you can't cancel then they have no right to stop you from doing that, check the wording thoroughly and cancel, or take it to your local Citizens advice for clarification, contracts work both ways after all said and done.

I used to have a policy with Warranty direct and that was good, they have a list of their own associated approved repairers and you take the car or they tow it, and they just charge warranty direct for the repair. The full cost of that policy was £220 / year upfront for a high powered sports coupe. I had the policy for two years and had repairs done totalling £1600.  (link below)

Just tried to call Carcraft the people whose policy it is we took out. Been told we cannot cancel unless we settle early which will cost approx £900! If we continue with the policy it will cost us £1500 with interest. Is there anything we can do? They were completely unhelpful and rude on the phone so wondering how i can take this higher and if we have any rights. My husband had no idea at the time how much it would cost in total and that we could not cancel it. My husband bought a used car back in december 2006. At the time he took out a three year guarentee which is paid off over the length of the car loan which is 5 years. This is costing £24 a month! We had an issue with the car yesterday and on ringing the garage were told alot of garages hate these warranties as they never pay them on time so now customer is charged upfront and customer has to claim back money from NAC. However i do not think this warranty is worth it at all. However nothing in information says about cancellation charges. Does anyone know anything about whether it is possible to cancel this at all? Want to be better informed before we ring. Any info greatly appreciated. Thanks, Kate
