My XH tried to set himself up on broadband and decided to use his old AOL member name. That reactivated the other names attached to that account, one of which was my webmail.
Every time I tried to contact AOL, I got garbage back. I kid you not. Prefilled, standard form email, in a really kooky format, telling me again and again to call the very expensive helpline, even when I explained that I cannot afford to do so.
I gave up in the end but I was appalled. I still get emails about what is now his account; surely that's a DPA breach?
I switched from AOl to Orange as they offered me free BB with my phone. I'd had no complaints about AOL prior to that, but after this fiasco, I wouldn't go near them again.
