this is a tactical question, how did you sign-up and can you prove you selected Websaver 6 dual fuel?

OK, there was a reason for my question. When I last switched (using a Consumer Focus accredited website) neither the website confirmation email, not the gaining supplier welcome emails specified the particular tariff I had selected. The first "proof" was the first statement after 3 months. As it happened I was put on a combination of "standing charge" and "no standing charge" tariffs. Was sorted out but it should never have happened since it was an "impossible" combination.

For the benefit of others, always take a screen print of what you have selected in case of problems.

At the moment if the tariff is going to be the standard one, better i'd carry on with Scottish Power...Could I go somewhere else without incurr in any penalty due to their mistake?

I'm not entirely surprised with what has happened but its certainly disappointing. I don't disbelieve you, this is a tactical question, how did you sign-up and can you prove you selected Websaver 6 dual fuel?

I strongly recommend you stick with it rather than trying to invoke (or invent) an escape clause. That would just be a different and probably more difficult can of worms.

Later edit regarding leaving Websaver 6 without penalty:

Well you can leave a Standard Tariff without penalty on 28 days notice. So if that is the tariff you are on.....

It's still a can of worms if BG turn round half way through the process and say you are on Websaver 6 after all. So not changing my advice. Up to you what you do.

Websaver 6 but on Standard tariff

    Hi there

I signed up for Websaver 6 dual fuel 2 months ago because they were cheaper after doing comparisons. The problem is that looking now to my online account, I see that my tariff is "Gas Standard" and Electricity Standard". I phoned a week ago to report this matter and they said will fix it. After two days I saw they did change the Electricity tariff to "Electricity saver" (but not the gas) and now looking again my online account the electricity is back to the standard tariff !!! Why is this happening and why is so complicated for them to fix it? At the moment if the tariff is going to be the standard one, better i'd carry on with Scottish Power...Could I go somewhere else without incurr in any penalty due to their mistake?

    Thanks
