    Re: Warranty

I'd recommend phoning the boiler manufacturer as stated before. If British Gas fitted it they would have given you 12 months free Homecare 200 for the full system, including a service and parts labour and call outs for any repairs you required within this period. At the end of the 12 months I assume they sent you an invitation to continue with the Homecare at a charge, therefore if you didnt accept this, any repairs you require from them are naturally going to be chargeable.

The boiler manufacturer however usually gives a separate warranty which is often 12+ months. If yours was 15 months and you are now outwith the 15 months, you can try calling them as others have said and hope they will be helpful and repair FOC, but I wouldnt be surprised if they didnt, as you dont have any contract/warranty/agreement with anyone anymore.

    Re: Warranty

Janice - Your case may merit contacting the boiler maufacturer's customer services to put your case to them and politely explain the situation, quite often as a gesture of goodwill some manufacturers will agree to slightly extend their obligation past the normal expiry period and send out an engineer, especially as the warranty has only just expired by a couple of weeks.

It is certainly worth a try to see if they will consider your case as an opportunity to exercise their discrertion to show willing, if only as a good customer relations exercise....you never know until you try.?

    Re: Warranty

Hi - What make is the boiler... dependent on make it's just possible there could be more than a year's warranty from the manufacturer, regardless of the fact BG has fitted it.?

If so you could call out the boiler manufacturer and make the claim on their warranty, if not then I'm afraid it's a matter of getting quotes and standing the repair costs yourself.
