Re: SKY upgrade/package change new 12month contract legal ?

I would say NO - Since the contract that you took out when you originally took out Sky - still stands - I had a similar dispute with my ISP when I "upgraded" a few years ago - They tried to impose new T&C on me - but I successfully argued my case that a contract that I originally signed up for, still holds for me - despite new T&C being imposed on new customers

    Thanks for that.

Maybe I should have left it because they automatically "upgrade" you after 2 month if you went over the "new" (BUT MUCH LOWER) download limits. It was 40GB then was changed to 10GB after they "re designed" the packages. Its funny how they won’t tell me how many people have been "forced" to upgrade following the changes.

I could have said "NO" to the automatic upgrade as I had been using SKY broadband for 2 years so could have cancelled at anytime at that point. If I had cancelled the phone and broadband to switch to TALK TALK it would have been cheaper than Sky unlimited - Sky is £21.50 including the phone line rental TALK TALK is £16 for the same package.

Guess its to late for me now but maybe something for others to consider!

I'm am by no means an expert but I would lean towards yes, as the bounds of the contract between yourselves and sky have now changed, in so much as they are now providing you a different set of packages than previous.

SKY upgrade/package change new 12month contract legal ?

I have just changed from Sky everyday to unlimited (due to my father in-law using Iplayer).

Sky stated its a new 12 MONTH contract how is this as it is ONLY a package change NOT a new package ??

    Is this legal ?
