    Re: Cheap calls to mobiles

I see that 18185 has just hiked up its connection charge for UK calls from 4p to 5p. Thereafter, there is still no charge whatsoever for the call, no matter how long it lasts. I have used them and their sister companies for many years with no trouble at all, saving myself many pounds in call charges. They really are the cheapest calls available. The only thing you have to watch out for is that they will creep up their connection charge. When they launch, connection is only 1p or 2p, but they gradually hike it up and they don't tell you - you have to keep an eye on their website, where they publish their call charges.

Now that 18185 have gone up to 5p, does anyone know a "zero pence per minute" service with a connection charge cheaper than 5p?

    Re: Cheap calls to mobiles

If signed up to the 18185 news letter, you automatically get notified as I have, of any changes without having to visit their website.
Here is a copy of what they sent me on Mon 15th Jan.

Please note: from the 16th of January calls within the UK via 18185 are subjected to a 5p connection fee.

Thanks for that information about the newsletter, andyjazz.

So, it seems that 18185 still has the cheapest connection charge, even though it's gone up to 5p. Unless anyone knows different . . . ??

VoIP services such as Skype and Vonage still offer free calls to any other Skype or Vonage user anywhwre in the world - well worth it if you're currently getting free broadband

    Re: Cheap calls to mobiles

you can use this website www.acecallonline.com to make cheap calls to many countries in the world from your UK mobile. I have been using this to call my parents in India. It is been really good for me. I checked my 3 mobile bill. I haven't been charged for using this number.

    Re: Cheap calls to mobiles/Vonage

Hi I read your comment on vonage. I am looking at it as an escape from BT Bondage. Is the customer service better and the service really cheaper?

I would greatly appreciate your comment.

    thanks.
