Hi guys,
just wanted to let you know that from January onwards, MAAF will charge £11.25 a month for line rental instead of the old £9.25; and their connection charge will also increase by nearly 100% from 5p to 9.5p per billable call.
In a recent email to their customers (i.e. also me) they of course didn't say it like that but said that their premium anytime call package will change from £5.90 to £5.00 and that they will now include free 0845/0870 calls as well as 300 free minutes for international calls.
Although the latter changes are very much welcome, I find that the connection fee for each call of 9.5p is ridiculous and am still wondering how they justify these connection fees, as they are unheard of in mobile tariffs as well as abroad.
Sorry to learn about those changes which are mandatory as well, but I probably will stay with them, since they are still the only provider with a month/by/month cancellation option compared to the 12/18/24 month contracts from all other companies.
Anyways, maybe the increases have been mandated by their new owner BT in order to not have a daughter company which is too cheap compared to their mother ;)
Greets,
Mat
