And my score was 812 whilst not on the roll, and it still fell by 130. It's all a scam.

Perhaps. The CRAs are mainly financed by lenders, for lenders. In spite of the "scam" many people do succeed in getting 4 or more cards.

The 25 years at your current address and still not on the electoral roll, makes your case rather unrepresentative.

Re: 130 point drop in Credit rating in five days!!

Its on my record as being at that address for 25 years!!!

And my score was 812 whilst not on the roll, and it still fell by 130. It's all a scam. I spoke to someone today, at the company, who says I should have another card on the account!!!! i prefer to pay from my bank account if I can, but to get a good score, I've to use a second credit card! I asked her, how many cards is too many, me thinking thatto have too many would damage the rating. She said five or more is too many!!!

Personally, if I saw someone with four credit cards, I'd think that'd make for an appalling rating, but she says I need more cards on there!!!!

Thynker:Ironically, another leading credit agency has me at a 'good' rating, as opposed to the 'poor' one from another

Perhaps that explains your differing experience in getting more credit. You are entitled to be informed which CRA a lender searched.

To turn to the "25 years", I assume that includes time spent in the parental home, how else can 25 years be explained away and still not on the electoral roll?

Anyway the answer is not how long you have spent at an address but how long the CRA(s) record you as having lived at an address. You share responsibility for ensuring that your credit file(s) are accurate and complete.

And there might be another reason. Thanks, or no thanks, to enhanced reporting lenders can see a lot about your credit history. You may say you have half a credit limit left on a card. A lender might see that a balance is not coming down in spite of the income quoted on the application. There is more to credit scoring that just an absence of adverse credit.

I do not know the answers but you will likely struggle until you get on top of your residence and electoral roll history.

I'm not on the electoral roll, but my form is in the post as of today. Have I been treated unfairly and can I reason with either the finance company or the credit rating company?

First of all stop wasting money on the "score" and concentrate on checking the completeness and accuracy of your credit file.

Fraid that "electoral roll form in the post" is not worth any points. Normally electoral roll information is updated monthly except when a new roll is being prepared. Think you're in that window unfortunately.

Whenever you apply for credit you will normally be asked for your current address and your previous address if less than 3 years at current address. If your credit report doesn't have you listed at your current address that is a big problem. But have you got your previous address listed? If a previous address is listed but not the current address because its too new, a lender could do a document check. Up to them, I guess if they don't want your business they don't want your business.

Look again at your credit report and take stock of the completeness and accuracy.

130 point drop in Credit rating in five days!!

I'm a hospital doctor with a good income, and on my credit report, one credit card, with half the balance remaining. No adverse credit history. My rating 5 days ago was in the low 800's (fair)

I'm thinking of buying a car and applied thru the car company for finance, as well as pricing insurance the past few days. I also applied for one credit card with 0% interest, which was accepted easily. My application for car finance was refused, and on looking at my rating it's now high 600's!!!! A drop of nearly 130!!!

I'm not on the electoral roll, but my form is in the post as of today. Have I been treated unfairly and can I reason with either the finance company or the credit rating company?
