    Re: Debt management company

OMG! I can't believe that this company are allowed to do this! I started with chase saunders last August and felt relieved that my debts were to be taken control of. However, I started receiving letters from creditors stating that payments had not been made. I rang chase saunders and was promised faithfully that it would not happen again. This past month or so the letters have started coming again, so I rang the creditors directly. I was told that no payments have been made since 19th February this year! WHERE THE HELL HAS MY MONEY BEEN GOING EACH WEEK?!

I too have contacted the OFT and they will be sending out a letter to chase saunders on my behalf, who must respond within 8wks. I will keep you all up to date and would like to thank you all for posting your experiences on here because before I read these posts I thought that it may have been some form of mistake on my part as to why the payments weren't going out and also I had no idea how to go about making a formal complaint etc.

    Re: Debt management company

I used to work for chase and they had a bacs audit in July 09, or so they said so we had to explain this to creditors, this was still continuing in April this year!!! They are taking money and not paying creditors. Debt management is not regulated until next year so if you want to take it further call or write to the OFT, office of fair trading, rumour around the company is that money is being used to fund other business, probably true as the reception was corporate aquisitions (corpaq), whatever you do do not give your money to this company. I left because have years experience in this field and do not want to be associated. They had a company in the building who did IVA's for them, they left and moved in B and E on Lloyd St in Mcr, but first thing they did was change their name, Mmmm I wonder why. the directors are a couple of thieves, W.K, wait till regulation then pay Ian back when your company is finished.

Ha! yes tigerlily, i had a letter yesterday finally from chase saunders saying (and i quote,) "you were right to think that some payments were a little later than usual". LATE???? they were completly missing! and still are. I have since written back to the financial ombudsman to get them to get to the bottom of this mess once and for all. watch this space:-)

    Re: Debt management company

Chase scammers! lol. I will find out whether it was a DD or a Standing order. I will have to get in touch with my bank too if thats the case. Yes it does help when your not alone. I feel better now after talking to the creditors directly. They even offered me a final outstanding amount that i could pay off if i payed it outright. I was shocked how much less it was, and luckily i borrowed a little cash form my mum and payed them off. I still have two debts left but now paying them directly with the creditors. I feel so much better now i have NO middle man! Some time they just make your life harder let alone the fees they charge! good luck for monday

    :-))

    Re: Debt management company

I'm really sorry to hear that. (Not a great thing to have in common is it)? I'll contact my creditors on monday and see if I can do the same as you.

Did you pay Chase Scammers by standing order? If so, talk to your bank. My bank, Natwest, told me today that they should be able to recall the payments...not sure how much though. I'm going to talk to them again on Monday too. I was so upset at the time that I couldn't make sense of myself, let alone them! I really want to make Chase Scammers pay for what they have done and also want to make sure that they never ever get the chance to do it again to anyone else. I'll post here again on Monday and let you know how I've got on....can't promise not to have another rant on here before then though! :o(

I'll also be contacting the FA and the OFT on Monday.

In a macabre way, it's reassuring to know that I'm not alone...so thanks! :o)

    Re: Debt management company

Hi im sorry to hear that you have same problem as me! Firstly, I stopped the direct debit with chase saunders, and i called the creditiors and explained everything to them, they were very understanding but still needed the outstanding payments that didnt reach them. I payed and then Set up a direct debit with them independantly, (saved on fees too) and they also waivered the fee the incured due to the non payment.

I wrote to chase saunders in feb and on thurs i had 1 message on my mobile to call them asap. I tried to call but no answer at the time. I have to now call them on monday and see what they got to say for themselves! I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK TO THEM. I will also be demanding the missing payments back. If they do not, then i will be forced to carry on with the financial ombudsman as you have to give the company in question 8 weeks to reply to an initial letter of complaint against a company. I have also told watchdog about them not that will come to anything but im furious too that these people are supposed to be professional! Let me know how you get on.... :-)

    Re: Debt management company

Hi, newbie here. I just joined when I read your forum articles on chase saunders. I joined them in October after all the smooth talk they gave me and I actually felt as though a weight had been taken off my shoulders....not any more! I'm in the same position, they have been receiving the money every month from me via a standing order from the bank, then today I've received two letters from two separate creditors telling me that they have not received payment from chase saunders for two months now, and also that they have received no satisfactory response from this company. I phoned the bank in panic, (thinking that maybe I'd screwed up some how), but the bank informed me that there were absolutely no problem my end and that the payments had been received by chase saunders. Also, I have received an email from chase saunders every month, (including the two where they haven't been paying my creditors), which is in a mini statement form and outlining payments to these creditors. SO...Chase Saunders are blatantly cooking the books...MY books! Surely, with the evidence stored on my computer, I could have them investigated for fraud. They are fraudulently taking my money on a monthly basis and not paying it to my creditors, (which after all, is why I'm paying them a hefty fee every month), and now I've had to pay two months worth of installments to these two creditors. I hate to think what the postman is going to bring me on Monday. Also, I'm scared witless that they may have got me into even more trouble with some of the larger creditors. I'm hoping to be able sort this mess out some how...but I also want to make sure that these fraudsters never steal from anyone ever again....because in my book that is what they are....theives! Sorry about the mad rant, but I really am out of my mind with worry!

    Re: Debt management company

I know how you feel.. i am in the same situation, I looked into it a couple of days ago and chase saunders havnt eeven payed the creditors since novermber!!!! i cant get through to them so i have reported them to the Financial Ombudsman by phone. Chase saunders have 8 weeks to reply. I have also reported them to BBC Watchdog. In the mean time i am also waiting to see the CAB. I have had to pay one creditor due to the 'missed payments'. I am more angery than words can say.

    Re: Debt management company

In your situation; it would be to your benefit to somewhat reverse the pressure being exerted upon you by lodging a complaint about this debt management companies handling of your affairs to the regulators... who are the Ministry of Justice below. Inform the M.O.J. just how this companies negligent actions are adversely affecting your health...due to the number and the frequency of the inconvenient, harassing phonecalls and correspondence that you are receiving.

    http://www.claimsregulation.gov.uk/contact.aspx

You could also inform this company that you are intending to complain about their unjust treatment of your affairs, of which they are obliged to represent your best interests, by paying your creditors in a organised and timely manner.

All debt management companies must have a Consumer Credit Licence which is issued by the OFT. You can check this out by contacting the OFT. You should complain to them also through consumer direct, in the link.
