So the Insurers don't have an agency in the UK you could approach. Sometimes, it is worth it if you keep asking. I am sure that if they had an office in the UK, they could arrange to transfer cover.

The insurers only have the option of buying a Global package which is quite pricey. So if it needs to be the NHS, then fair enough.

Have you spoken to the Irish Insurers to see if you can transfer your policy to continue the cover in the UK?

If you go to a new company, I doubt they will cover a pre-existing condition, so you would have to rely on the NHS. From what have heard some of the NHS services are rated better than private anyway.

Pre-Existing Conditions & Private Health Insurance

This year, I underwent heart surgery and in 2010 it is our plan to move to the UK. However, in Ireland, I was covered by private health insurance and my worry is that, while I will only require check-ups and medication for the time being, I will not be entitled to private health insurance or if I do get it, I will not be able to claim anything heart-related.

Does anyone have any advice on this, and am I worrying too much?
