That's not so bad. I got into classical music after watching the fountain scene in Oceans 11!

My but this forum is filled with rockers! I had no idea, it must be something to do with personal finance...

I do enjoy classical music but I don't know much about it. I went to see Carmen a few years ago and was a little ashamed that I knew most of the songs through ringtones. Not my proudest cultured moment, I admit.

Ozzy disappointed me, but I didn't exactly see him in his heyday. Iron Maiden are also proof that things can live up to the hype, you're right. I saw them on the Brave New World tour, it was immense.

To avoid totally hijacking the thread, though, I hope these GoGo hamsters are shown to be safe. I've heard of parents paying as much as £60 for them, what a shame if they can't actually give them to their children!

Re hype and living up to it - yes it can! Metallica live. Nuff said :)

I have seen Metallica live twice and they are almost as good as the hype. Not that keen on Hammetts' riffs and solos, lacks variety. Prefer them when they play the NWOBHM stuff as featured on 'Garage days revisited'.

Not as good as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Killing Joke and Ozzy.

From Hamsters to Heavy metal !!!!!!!!

Well, apparently there's no proof that Mr Squiggles is dangerous *grins*

The Christmas story that's had my jaw drop open this year is: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/2760619/Mouse-toy-recalled-over-claims-it-sings-paedophile.html

They played the jingle on Radio 4 this morning and it really does sound like the mouse is singing something else!

Re: Do Go Go Hamsters live up to the hype?

If i was still 7 years old i'd say definitely. But i'm not, so instead i'll ask a different, bah humbug, question.

Does anything, ever, live up to the hype?

I think Mr Squiggles is now in danger of being killed and cooked as part of an ITV reality tv show....

I am a liability, get me off this shelf!

Re: Do Go Go Hamsters live up to the hype?

I have beenasking the same questions. My 7 yr old daughter has asked for some for xmas, but i dont see the pint in them. Theres nothing entertaining or educational about them.As for the prices on Ebay thats barmy! Id rather waste my money on something worth it rather than something that is pointless and the kids will be bored with after 5 minutes.

Do Go Go Hamsters live up to the hype?

    Hi,

Last week I wrote an article titled 'The 'dream dozen' toys of Christmas 2009' and mentioned Go Go Hamsters - tipped to be the biggest selling toy this year.

No, this post isn't a shameless plug for my article (well, a little bit, but mostly not) - I want to hear from someone who's actually played with one of these robot rodents.

All the footage I've seen of them shows them running around and squeaking if you push their nose-buttons. However, when I see the word 'interactive', I kind of expect something more like Furby. How do they interact? How 'clever' are they?

I almost certainly won't find one for my five-year-old cousin before Christmas (I am not paying eBay £60 for a £10 toy!) but I am thinking of picking one up for his January birthday.

Does it live up to the hype?

    Thanks,

    Felicity
