Dont apply for any more Credit !

Make sure your paying the most expensive debt first

Move the debt around so you have the most debt on the lowest rate/Payment

Cancel any Sky Gym Subscirptions, etc

Could you move to intrest only on your morgage this could save you hundreds of pounds a month ?

4k is not allot do you have asseste you can sell to clear some of this ? we Raised £600 on ebay selling lots of dusty things from the loft ?

    good luck

Firstly; stop applying for more credit, numerous declined applications will only serve to further degrade your existing credit rating. When you first setup home, that is the time of life where most people find their finances come under the greatest strain.

Secondly; seek the immediate free help of any of the professional organisations below. After preparing a income and expenditure balance sheet they will be in a position to identify your essential living costs and suggest where savings could be made, restructure your existing payments, or ensure that you are receiving everything that you are entitled to.

The debt of £4k is not huge by some standards, but if you are struggling to make payments then you need some external professional help to balance the accounts.

Help - need some advice on debt management

    Hi,

Myself and my partner are looking for advice on managing our creditors.

We have just bought our first house, but we have some issues with paying our 2 credit cards, plus 1 or 2 other things. We are paying them on time but we feel we are struggling and end up using what we have just paid. It feels like we are getting nowhere. Its more the case of not the amount of debt, but the amount we are paying out. I have tried getting a loan to consolidate things in to 1 smaller monthly payment. But unfortunately we keep getting declined.

I do not want a trust deed or anything like that as there is only about 4k worth of debt. I only want to reduce our payments.

Can someone please offer advice or help on this?

    Thanks
