Obviously 2 different fronts to fight.

    1) County Court action. You need to know what to do next. Rather than add a long post, see the debt advice trust page on this subject which I have added a link as it seems a straightforward guide. http://www.debtadvicetrust.org/resource/ccj/

    2) Employment law issues. Go to local CAB to see if you can access an employment law specialist. It depends on your circumstances and the issues involved, but there are solicitors that take on pro bono (for free) work, to help people out.I think the way it works is that you are given a half hour free consultation meeting and then they will decide whether they are prepared to take on your case or offer advice about the best way forward.. http://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/ .

    Thanks Huckster

I have contacted the Company in question and recieved a very harsh pay it all now or go to court and this is definitely not an option.

I however was wondering how I could get the judge to throw this out based on the fact that I had made an offer although they deny any such knowledge. And also on the fact that they sent out a reference that was frankly illegal getting me the sack yet still want all the money at once despite, this making me unemployed and having to live off all my savings.

And yes unfortunatley im not an MP

However if you have any ideas of a template I could submit as my defence to court this would be greatly appreciated

Suggest that you obtain legal advice about the way forward. It does not help that your offer letter was not sent by recorded delivery, so you have no proof of sending the offer. Is it still possible to make an offer and avoid this going to court? If not what legal help can you obtain in helping you defend this in court?

Community legal may be able to point you in the right direction. http://www.communitylegaladvice.org.uk/

It is a shame you are not an MP!!!!!

    Recieved a County Court Claim

Hi there hopefully someone can give me some advice on the defence to the following to avoid a CCJ

I was dismissed from a previous employer due to what was deemed as " fradulent " expenses but that is another story, following a tribunal claim which I lost there was a balance owing to the previous employer of approx £1200.00

Having started a new job I made an offer of £50.00 a month, which I never receieved any response to and then due to there bad and frankly illegal reference was dismissed again. Having not had a response to offer never chased the situation due to the obvious bad feeling.

Today I recieved a County Court Claim form stating that i owe the £1200 + £70.00 costs, what is the best defence to put forward to avoid a CCJ?

I still have a copy of the original letter snet although with hindsite this should have been done by a recorded delivery method.
