Re: Experian Credit Score 891 - V12 Finance turn me down!

I applied for finance through MESH computers with v12 finance, I was accepted via email then directed to a site to download my credit agreement. The email I received from v12 finance clearly stated that I had been accepted for finance for this purchase, and then they charged me £35 for the credit agreement which I sent to them in the post, signed and dated. Today I received my credit agreement back in the post, with a letter from v12 saying that my application had been declined.

So to recap, v12 accepted me for finance, charged me £35 and then changed their minds. SCAM.

Re: Experian Credit Score 891 - V12 Finance turn me down!

I can totally understand what you mean!...I've had my eye on a Nikon D5000 which I wanted to buy today with 10% deposit which I was more than happy to pay at Jessops rather than the normal 5%. I walked in, selected my Camera and waited for what seemed like an eternetity to have my finance details entered on the system for a company called V12 to let me know that I've been declined!!!!...I was absolutely shocked and dissappointed to know that I had been declined as I have never been so before.

I was completed surprised as just last week I was contacted by another finance company asking if I was intrested in taking out a loan as I had such a good credit rating with them, so I really couldn't understan why this V12 company declined my application. I am happy I googled this to see that others have had a similar experience like mine. I also read from an un named source that whilst he was at work with Jessops, he hardly ever saw any one pass through the checks with V12...even thought they were well to do...Out of 20 applications, only 2 passed apparently!, so dont know if this company id dodgy, or if Jessops gain from having us to pay for the £s in full!!! SMART BUGGERS!...

I asked the guy at Jessops why I was turned down but he could not say. He gave me a number to call to request why I was declined and said that they would be able to post the details once I made my request. So, I called their 029 number...and some guy said that they can't take requests like mine over the phone and that I would have to email them to request to know why my application was declined!!..The nerve!....

Anywho...will probably pay for this in full now....

So..if you have heard of V12...My best advice would be to stay away...not worth the dissappointment of knowing your application has been declined..when you know your credit score is good...

:( Was sooo looking forward to my camera.... Burn in Hell V12!

Re: Experian Credit Score 891 - V12 Finance turn me down!

well well well.... I applied for a 6 months interest-free credit with Jessops finance and V12finance turned me down, informing me that my "application may have been declined due to information from a credit reference agency, in accordance with section 26 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974, we are required to notify you that the Agency consulted on your applications was Experian Ltd". Paid £2 and discovered that everything was fine. So I am going to contact Which? (I am a member) and at least report this.

Thank you to you all, I was amazed and slightly scared when told that I was not good enough for a 6 months credit (ID theft etc) but finding this thread allowed me to have a better sleep until I received my credit record which confirmed that everything was OK

BTW, there is no record of v12finances checking my Experian credit record either.

Re: Experian Credit Score 891 - V12 Finance turn me down!

Well that makes at least three people.

There’s something very dishonest about what they’re doing. Advertising “interest-free credit” but then declining people on the basis of their good credit scores strikes me as not only immoral, but quite possibly illegal.

Anyone else had the same experience?

I have had the same problem with V12, applied for credit and was declined due to credit score. I have access to all my credit files and no file was searched. My credit history is perfect with no adverse.

The more times you apply for credit, the more searches will be recorded, which in turn will tend to lower your credit score – be careful…

Man - not my day today. Saw the same equipment I want, online at Dabs.com, and noticed they too do a buy now, pay 2010...guess who provides the finance?

    V12.

Needless to say, they turned me down flat again...

Re: Experian Credit Score 891 - V12 Finance turn me down!

Yep, horror stories. I’ll steer clear of them. Their website does look less professional than Equifax and Experian.

What with this lot, V12, Scam Computer… they all seem like bottom-feeders to me. I don’t need ‘em in my life.

    Hipster:

Blimey - no I won't! Have you seen the negative reports about Call Credit on the internet?

Think I'll chalk this one up to experience and try saving instead!

No – what have *they* been up to?

This whole area is full of sharks…

Re: Experian Credit Score 891 - V12 Finance turn me down!

Then they use both agencies, or they have very recently switched. Experian clearly show that “CLODE PLC” did a recent search on me, and Clode is V12.

I’d like to know if other people have been declined by V12 because of their good credit rating…

Just called V12 finance, and they informed me that don't use Experian...they use CallCredit to check.

Guess I'll waste another couple of quid to see what they hold on me.

Re: Experian Credit Score 891 - V12 Finance turn me down!

Scan don’t use anyone to do credit checking – the sub-contract the whole operation to V12 Finance / Clode Retail Finance. It’s V12 who would have ordered the credit report.

They certainly did a check on me – it’s showing in the Experian file now. Which is something else I’m not wild about – it looks like I’ desperate to get a “personal loan” – which I’m not.

Scan / V12 Finance / Clode Retail Finance have wasted a lot of my time and some money in joining Experian and buying a report. Their attitude is simply appalling – very arrogant.

From my point of view, Scan are responsible for the financial products they advertise (Scan have denied this in an e-mail to me, but I believe they’re wrong). I strongly suspect that V12 are not interested in good payers – they want people who are already up to their necks in debt, and will therefore not be able to pay off the loan within the interest-free period.

If this is the case, then Scan are in effect advertising a non-existent product as a “come-on”. I certainly won’t deal with them again – in my mind, Scan Computers = Scam Computers.
