edwards:No, just trying to encourage people who will be hit by this that changing is not difficult and that I also got a better deal with no account charges.

Quite right. And the best thing about the previous post is it moved the issue back to the top.

I don't mean to be rude, but is this a question?

    Bank of Scotland overdraft charges

Just been in to BOS to close down my accounts with them and they said they were sorry I was leaving, but I should have talked to them first and they would have offered their new account which would ONLY cost me £12.50. Now we know whats going on, us who are on a pension and don't pay in much obviously don't make much for the bank and they want rid of us.

Interestingly I have transferred to the Clydesdale Bank who were happy to see me and gave me everything I had at BOS but suprise suprise an overdraft rate a lot less than I had been paying. There is really no point in staying with a bank like this and be brave, moving bank is not as difficult as they would have you believe!!!
