No experience of this. Are you looking to get a discount for early settlement?

You need to ask the company for details of the settlement terms. Tell a white lie, that you are in the process of moving abroad, have money tied up in the move, so are looking to settle the finance for the lowest possible amount. Ask them to provide full information of the amount repaid so far, with interest shown separately and how much is left to pay, again with any interest/fees shown separately.

Then once you receive the information, go back to the company concerned and ask them to accept a lower sum. Be cheeky to start of with and be willing to negotiate up.

Negotiating a settlement figure on car finance

    Hi

I have a car with finance on it provided by Lombard. I want to settle the finance but was going to try and negotiate the settlement figure down further. Does anyone have any experience of doing this and if so what sort of additional discount were you able to negotiate?

    Thanks
