You need to direct your efforts towards a plan to pay of your debt with your own money over the next few years. Shuffling accounts and cards might get you a little breathing space but it wont give you a long term solution.

    Loans vs Credit Cards?

Can someone give me some advice please. I have 3 credit cards, one with a balance of £5,600 the other with £2,600 and the other £1,800. I have an overdraft of £1,800. I've been advised to open another bank account keeping my existing one open to pay off the overdraft and get all my direct debits etc transferred over to a new account. I'd like to balance transfer some of the balances on the credit cards but am worried I won't get high enough credit limit and will end up with another card that I don't really want. Would I be better trying to get another personal unsecured loan? I have one already with Northern Rock which has about £14,000 left on it and I have 6 years left to pay. I'm just getting myself more and more confused and don't know what to do for the best. Help!!!
