Rented Bungalow But Not Getting What was Advertised

Hi new to this, me and my girlfriend moved into this new place but it was advertised with a garage now nearly a month later they still have a car in the garage, where do we stand legally and what can we do, obviously dont want to annoy the landlord, they said before they didnt advertise the property with the garage, but surely they would have seen the advert before letting the estate agents advertise it. I was going to use it as a gym, so for nearly 4 weeks my weight bench is sat outside with a plastic cover over it.

    any advice would be helpfull

    cheers

It's quite possible that the landlord doesn't have anywhere else to store the car and anything else that is in the garage so my guess is that you will not get far by asking for the garage to be emptied and made available for you. If you have a copy of the advert, you could show it to the landlord and explain the situation. It is possible that you might get a small rent reduction or the landlord might let you store the gym in the garage.

I am fairly certain that, should you not be able to find a solution that you are both happy with, you would not be held to any long term residency agreement and would be free to move elsewhere without penalty.

Look at your tenancy agreement and see if it includes the garage. It's that simple!
