Re: orange broadband HA is a joke right

Sorry, I never managed to Sherlock Holmes a telephone number for their mysteriously uncontactable CEO.

I just wrote to him twice and got in touch with the Internet Service Providers Association, whom I believe wrote to Orange twice also.  One or both of these options allowed me to get onto a VIP list, where they are more helpful.

    Regards and good luck!

Re: orange broadband HA is a joke right - WORLDS WORST PROVIDER

just thought id put in a update..... im sorry to see that there is more of you that have had trouble with the orange service.... i can now inform you that im still on the doom and gloom dial up ive now had the tag removed from my line.. im going with my new internet provider on the 16th april (horray is light at the end of the tunnel) ive had no refunds from orange in fact theyve been trying to take money out of the bank, ive had to notify the bank to tell them not to let orange set up any direct debits as they shouldn't be taking money from my account... ive sent emails regarding my £80 bill in phone calls to there call centres.. and guess what ive had no reply...oh the future is certainly not bright with orange!!!!!!!!!!!! i wish you all luck and i really can't tell you any advice only to be persistant and not to let them fob you off tell them you want to speak to there managers.... this will im afraid keep your phone bill high..........

the fact of the matter is with orange its either the indian call centre or the expertise of the orange employees and there ability to fob you off.................

Oh another gripe for you is that if you have a wireless laptop that runs the 2000 package orange won't be able to tell you how to make it wireless with there orange box as two of there employees informed me that they hadn't been trained how to do it and there were supposed to be technical guys.....................i do also have a xp package that worked fine....

Re: orange broadband HA is a joke right - WORLDS WORST PROVIDER

Thought I may as well join
the rest of you in saying that Orange is by far the worst. I had nothing but
trouble ever since they took over. I've finally just finished my last 2 week
battle with them after been off-line for 4 days.

I was advised that I could
be refunded for my down time, but after speaking to India they refused point
blank. There service is ridiculous. I’ve finally been refunded 1 month and £15
pound in phone calls. I hate having to ring them,

    1 it’s an 0870 number,
2 you always get through to
    India (Can’t understand a word)
    3 Advise you of wrong
information and there favourite sentence. CALL BACK IN 48 HOURS.

    After been a customer for
now over 10 years I’m finally going to leave them when I move house at the end
of the month. Mainly as they want to charge me £30 for the privilege of moving.
Why don’t new customers get charged?

All I can say to anyone
reading this is DON’T JOIN ORANGE!!!!!

Re: orange broadband HA is a joke right

No you are not alone - my partner and myself feel that we have been lied to from the first day of our complaint.  I too am now on dial up and have had to dig out an old computer to be able to access this making it twice as slow as dial up usually is.  I have requested a MAC code as the other provider insisted that I get one as they have had problems dealing with Orange and as I have two lines into the house have also arranged a back up service on the other line - can't wait to get that installed sometime next week.  I am definitely going to leave Orange as the world is definitely not brighter but darker and back in the dark ages with dial up. I too have been from pillar to post in that place and finally ended up with a section that I was told didnot exist!!  It wasn't until then that things have started moving along - I can't wait to leave - I joined freeserve in 2000 paying for anytime for the kids at school and then went on to broadband when it was Wanadoo but now it is Orange I am off as soon as they send me my MAC code - we will wait and see how long it takes them to do that!!

Re: orange broadband HA is a joke right

I also had nothing but wrong info and general unhelpfulness from Orange. I lost my internet connection for 8 weeks all through December and January. It cost me over £15 in telephone calls to a whole string of generally unknowledgeable and unhelpful people at their "Customer Services Dept". They had me change my modem, have my telephone point re-wired, another £65, and then after yet more arguments they agreed to get a BT engineer to check out the exchange. Guess what, internet restored . For this wonderful "service", they gave me as a "Goodwill gesture" one month's rental back. Needless to say when this"free" month runs out I'm off to another ISP. Does anyone know a reliable, fair and trustworthy provider?

Re: orange broadband HA is a joke right

I needed to contact the ISPA for help twice when I had no internet connection for over nine weeks. Believe me, it was of very little help. I believe they wrote to orange.
I wrote to Orange twice and to their CEO at any address I could lay my hands on.
If you are fortunate enough to get onto (don't laugh) their VIP list, you do at least get your phone calls answered and a date and time set for the next update, and the next oh and the next. Which, after suffering torment at the hands of their unfortunately named customer support dept is a baby step in the right direction.

It really is a case of, you don't realise how much you need your internet connection until it is taken away from you and you have no power whatsoever to get it back again.

Crying [:'(] orange broadband HA is a joke right

i can't believe what lies and fob offs ive had to put up with from staff members at orange i mean are they all tone deaf???
orange problems started when they tried to run (for some unknown reason) 2 services down the one line so a tag was put on the line now my broad band speed on a good day is 2 meg. i phone orange get passed throu several people and they say that they would do a line check. next day still no broad band. well 4 days later they find a tag, put blame on bt. i contact bt to see whats happening and then find out it was oranges fault it has took me now 10 days to try and get some answers which are still a mystery ive spoken to different people at orange and not really got the right answers (am trying to keep story as short as poss) orange cancelled my broadband put me on to dial up!!!! ha which is super slow. then i ring again and ask when tag was removed they say it will take another 2 weeks i get really cross and tell them i want to finish my contract and go to another isp. no mac code was given as they say i don't need one. threats of ofcom made. ring again find out that the tag was removed and put back on as soon as i said i wanted to go to another provider tag not going to be removed..................... i dread my phone bill as ive had to speak and be put on hold with orange so much and not getting anything done apart from hastle.....

AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO'S HAD THIS TREATMENT????????????????
