you have already been given good ideas but another option could be try going to the bank that you have your current account with, as you might have built up a relationship with them. (assuming that you have one for your wages).

try the branch rather than online if you go down the bank loan route because they can get you a yes/no when you are there rather than waiting days/weeks to hear back from the internet.

Another poster had the same problem. He managed to get finance from a garage he bought the car from. I think some small garages can arrange finance.

Your best sources of money would be your next pay cheques (it shouldn't take long to save up £2k unless you aren't good with money) or mum and dad.

I currently have a bit of an unreliable car, and would like to borrow £2,000 to get something a little more solid. I am 20, earning £18k a year and live at home.

Any ideas where my best source for a loan would be? Already been declined by Sainsbury's.
