    14 day cooling off period

    Hello,

I recently received a call from a loan broker who took a admin fee of £44 from me stating they could give me a £2000 loan to help me get out of debt. After a week I realised that they were going to be unable to help me and therefore I took advantage of the 14 day cooling off period stated in their terms and conditions. Now they have got back to me saying they can only offer me a £15 partial refund due the amount of work that has been carried out. Is this reasonable or are they trying to get away with it? Your help would really be appreciated on this matter as I am young and not very savvy when it comes to contracts and the like.

    Kind Regards,

    Kimberley Estenson

The maximum they can charge you is £5. Advise them you will complain to the Financial ombudsman Service if they do not refund you a minimum of £39. They will not want you to go to the FOS as they will be charged a fee of £450 and it will cost you nothing.
