    Recommended Insurances

    Hi All,

Myself and my fiancee have been looking at our financial situation a little more closely now and are really wondering what (if any) insurances would be sensible to look into taking up (besides car insurance of course)

Currently we're both in full time employment, and have a mortgage. There are no dependants yet but we're working on that one :D.

    Re: Recommended Insurances

    Good morning mynewt,

Well as circumstances in your life changes so will your perspective so remain flexable and price up cover carefully price comparison sites such as this one will give you a general figure, however depending on what exactly is required for each insurance you may have to 'tweek' it a bit! Loyalty doesn't pay review any policies regularly.

Mortgage will require insurance for the building not contents so you may consider contents insurance not a legal requirement but unless you can afford to replace all your contents a good idea. You say you have no children yet the question you need to ask is if you require life insurance yet to pay out to your NOK and dependents (your children) if something was to happen to you.

Pet Insurance oh the list goes on! Have a talk and decide what are the important things in life and what could cause you difficulty if something was to happen then decide. The only thing I would strongly advise is that if you are in a position too seek Independent Financial advice (IFA)

    Regards,
    Paul

    Re: Recommended Insurances

    Hi Paul,

Thanks for your reply, I've added Contents insurance to our list, and we'll check out life insurance (although may not get sensible cover due to pre-exsisting conditon), pet insurance is out as partner not very pet-friendly (i.e. she screams and runs a mile when in proximity to any pet - its quite fun most times).

We're mainly trying to figure out which insurances are sensible and which one's aren't worth the investment. Insurances seem to be everywhere and its a nightmare working out which are sensible to look at. Thanks for your help!!
