My husband and I have recently moved into a small 3 bedroom house, which is all electric, it is costing us about £3.50 - £4.00 a DAY from our prepayment meter? We are distressed about this cost, as it amounts to well over £100 a month. Is there a difference between storage heaters?? We have a huge one in our livingroom that makes our wee red light on our meter go wild and blink every two seconds, which is more than what the tiny instant heat dimplex electric heaters use. Our other smaller storgae heaters do not have the same affect on the meter either, the red light flashes much slower? A couple years ago we lived in a different house with the exact same electric system and it cost us half the price it is costing us now, which is another reason we are sure we must be doing something wrong this time? We have organised for the prepayment meter to be changed to a monthly direct debit bill, will this make much of a differnce or will we just be usingt he same amount of electricity?
