Just trying to use the calculator to check my bills are as low as possible, I've entered the details in to the calculator, but I don't know what tariff I'm on so I put standard, but this doesn't match up to what my bill says.

My latest bill says I pay 6.914p per kWh for gas (28/06 - 18/09) and electricity I pay 23.443p per kWh for the first 142 and then 10.775p (28/06 - 9/10).

I can't find the name of the tariffs anywhere on the bills, any ideas ? I really want to use the calculator to compare like for like.

It probably says somewhere, but not always exactly the same name as used by the comparison webistes.

No matter, phone your suppler and ask the same question you have asked here. They will likely twig what you are up to and suggest their own better tariff.

Also ask what your annual consumption is in kWhrs, because that gives the most accurate comparison.

I know that I'm not on a fixed / discounted tariff because I've been on this for ages. BG can never seem to get the bills right - last year they upped my direct debit and gave me a £70 rebate.. on the same bill! Im £67 in credit on gas and £68 in debit on electricity at the moment..

OK, another tip. Single bill arrangements are much easier to manage the monthly payements. Eon and Scottish Power definately do single bills for their dual-fuel tariffs. Maybe others.
