    Hi Steadyeddy

I'm not a massive coffee person but this machine seems to be well regarded on our Shopping Channel and Ciao.co.uk:

I could suggest a big brand tea but that's not coffee as we know it eddy.

I very much doubt it Dave and if I can, my guess is it would be disproportionately expensive. Anyway it's ok I just wondered if someone had a really good machine he could recommend.

Can you not just buy a replacement plastic filter?

    Hi steady,

Can't offer any advice really,I am a trendy cappuccino guy myself. What I do know is that these home made machines are ok but they never create the same authentic feel that you get from the large retail machines.(or the speed). Then again,it looks good in the kitchen.

    COFFEE MAKER - ADVICE PLEASE

I enjoy ground coffee and dislike instant coffee intensely and have not drunk it for many years.

I have had a Braun jug coffee maker for many years. It takes a paper filter and I wonder whether this part of the apparatus with its stained on coffee is tainting any coffee I am brewing. I recently tried and returned a Kenwood coffee maker where one presses the cup on the bar for it to dispense. This was no better but that may have been because it was large capacity and I normally only make two cups.

All I want is a simple coffee maker and by this I mean not the capsule or cappuccino types or a fashion statement.

Can anyone suggest anything or am I just as well off to keep my Braun until it packs up? Thanks.
